Current Swell

Current Swell have built their reputation the tried-and-true way: one unforgettable live show at a time. The Victoria, BC band has spent years crisscrossing the globe, turning clubs, theatres, festivals, and packed rooms from Brazil to Australia, Europe, and across North America into something that feels less like a concert and more like a celebration.

On stage, Current Swell are powerful, loose, spontaneous and completely connected to their audience—a band whose songs seem to grow bigger the moment a crowd starts singing them back. Led by Scott Stanton and David Lang, alongside Louis Sadava, Marcus Manhas and Phil Hamelin, Current Swell bring together soaring guitars, driving rhythms, rich harmonies and blasts of brass for a live sound that moves effortlessly between indie, folk, roots and rock 'n' roll. Songs like “Young and Able,” “Long Time Ago,” “Rollin”, and “Keys to the Kingdom” have become live anthems, often transformed by thousands of voices singing along. That relationship with the audience has become the heart of a Swell show. No two performances feel exactly the same, and the line between band and crowd has a habit of disappearing as the night goes on. Current Swell aren't simply a band to listen to. They're a band you need to experience live.
